This past weekend in the U.S., we celebrated Independence Day. You know, the day we declared that the colonies were independent from England. And then we started a war to prove it.
Independence can be a hard thing to earn. Toddlers try their best to become independent by using their favorite word, “NO!” My own girls want more independence and have ridden their bikes to the park without me a couple of times. I remember loving (and hating) that feeling of independence when I went off to college.

My girls, too, want more independence and then still there are times where they just want me. So, it is definitely a work in progress here.
It’s always a struggle, isn’t it! I just hope my two never become too independent from their mom and dad. 🙂
