Friday Follow-Up: Mac ‘n Cheese

A couple of years ago, we discovered that our local grocery stores were no longer selling our favorite mac ‘n cheese. While this was a disappointment to the girls and me, someone was even more disappointed.

My husband, Ed.

He was the one who introduced me to this little box of happiness, after all. During his bachelor days, President’s Choice White Cheddar was a main staple of his diet.

When he discovered that our store wasn’t offering it any more, he requested some information and learned that the President’s Choice brand was only going to be sold in Canada. We tried to find substitutes. We found some good mac ‘n cheese, but none was quite as good.

So Ed planned a vacation to Canada for the sole purpose of buying President’s Choice Mac ‘n Cheese.

Really.

Just a couple of weeks ago, we traveled to Canada just to go grocery shopping. Ed was so happy to find plenty of boxes of mac ‘n cheese on the shelves, he just about cried.

Tears of joy!

He bought ten boxes, and we worried that might not be enough!

Oh, yes, we may have also seen Niagara Falls, too.

Disclosure: Ed really does love President’s Choice White Cheddar Mac ‘n Cheese. This is his own opinion, and we were not compensated in any way for this post. Not even with mac ‘n cheese; we paid for those boxes fair ‘n square and we don’t have to share!

  1. Hahaha! That shot of him crying in the aisle is too funny!Hey, have you tried Annie's pasta? It's really good and natural ingredients.PS. I'm passing the tissue box to you too, by the way πŸ˜‰

  2. That is so funny! It had me laughing out loud. Did he ever think about moving to Canada, for the sole purpose of the mac 'n cheese?

  3. I use to like several of the President's Choice items. I don't remember the Mac 'N Cheese. Sorry but I don't think 10 boxes are enough. That rainbow is awesome!

  4. That is hilarious. Everything is better in Canada and you're going to have to do what I did… find a Canadian blogger to befriend and have them ship you illegal mac-n-cheese goods. I made Keely send me a ceiling fan that was no longer available in the US. True story.

  5. My husband fell in love with a certain kind of all bran bars that are now only sold in Canada. We found a Canadian food website that sells a lot of Canadian sold only food products and ships to the U.S. I don't know the website as my husband did it all (we ended up getting about 50 boxes of them in the mail), but it may have your mac n cheese on there πŸ™‚
