Spin Cycle this week is all about things I hate.
I hate when I pull into the garage just as a great song I haven’t heard in AGES starts playing on the radio. There’s no way I have patience to stay in an unmoving car with a 4 year old in the back seat and a trunk load of groceries to bring in. But thank goodness for the internet; I can pull up songs I missed while carrying that gallon of milk inside.
But then…I hate that this video practically ruined one of my favorite high school songs for me! I had never seen it before, and it’s HORRIBLE! It totally doesn’t match the video I had in my own head about “Holding Out For a Hero”. Can someone please remind me what TV show this song was from? I don’t remember…and I hate that!
As awful as this video is, it reminded me of Bonnie Tyler’s other awful video, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and the hilarious “literal version.” The literal version changed the words to the song to match the images in the video, which doesn’t sound funny, but which really worked for “Total Eclipse.” So to cheer myself up, I searched for the video…and discovered that it has been banned in the US! I hate that it has been banned! Some such thing about copy write infringement.
Sigh.
