From Farm to Plate: Should We Save the Turkeys?

After I visited the pig farm with my fellow Illinois Field Moms, I heard from a couple of the field moms that they had a difficult time eating pork. It was just so hard to see those adorable baby pigs and then think of them being dinner.

  1. My husband is a hunter. He has great respect for animals. He has the meat processed after he shoots a deer and we eat it. My kids like knowing what kind of animal has provided the meat for our dinner. I wouldn’t ever stop eating meat, but it is always good to know that the animals were well-care in life.

    1. I think hunters play an important role, too! We can’t have hunting season by us because we are too urban, and the deer in the forest preserves get diseased when there is an overpopulation.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop eating meat, either! šŸ˜‰
