I have taken a lot of random pictures while thinking, “Oh, I can use this on my blog!” The pictures don’t turn out very well, either because I’m not a great photographer or because my camera doesn’t take the pictures the way I want it too. Probably both reasons. Oh, well.
The black smudge by the tree is actually a black squirrel. I’ve never seen a black squirrel in our area before. I’ve only seen them in Detroit, looking anemic with scraggly looking tails. This black squirrel looked really plump and had a really fluffy tail. I’ve been on the look out for him again, but haven’t seen him. Apparently their color makes them stick out and so they don’t have as good a survival rate at the other colors of squirrels. They are just a color variation of the grey squirrel. Now I’ve rambled on way to much about squirrels.

I got this idea after reading Chester’s Way by Kevin Henkes to Lily. Chester and Wilson only eat their sandwiches cut in triangles, but Lilly shows them how to cut their sandwiches into shapes with cookie cutters.

We have squirrels EVERYWHERE here, but they're the general brown/grey variety. I've only ever seen the black ones in the woods. I can see how they'd stand out, lol!
i need to try that trick with Bubby. maybe he will eat his toast that way. happy RTT!!!
