You may have read somewhere that on Mondays, I am guest hosting “My Young Adult Years” over at Mommy’s Piggy Tales. {Insert wink here!} When Janna and I were talking about her vision for My YAY, we decided that “young adult” should be our early twenties.
While I have plenty of material to draw on from my early twenties, I didn’t start dating my husband until I was 31 years old and he was 35. Lucky for you, I can write memories of our time together on other days of the week!
Ed and I discovered early in our relationship that we both loved to travel. We haven’t traveled the world, but we have seen quite a lot of the United States together. We love Road Trips! (Or at least we used to, pre-children.) The week after I walked the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk, Ed and I drove to North Carolina to vacation in the Outer Banks. A trip to the Outer Banks isn’t complete without visiting lighthouses! I tried to curve the black stripes on my scrapbook page below to match the Hatteras Lighthouse, but I wasn’t very successful at capturing that three-dimensional effect.
Ah, the thrill of the open road! On the drive home from North Carolina, we stopped in Mammoth Cave, Kentucky. A little later that year, we attended a wedding in Quincy, Illinois. When Ed and I were traveling, we were often by ourselves. So we would take pictures of one another in the same spot. On the scrapbook page below, I used horizontal lines to tie the separate photos of us together.
More scrapbook pages of our travel together next week! (That may not be the most thrilling cliffhanger ever…please come back?) {insert smiley face here!}
Before I started this blog, I used to scrapbook. (See the above scrapbook pages!) I just loved it, and I want to start scrapbooking again. Christine’s Scrap Party takes place every week, and this just may be the right motivation for me to start scrapbooking again…blogging about it! For scrapbooking ideas, click Christine’s button.
