Accomplish More! {Tuesday Ten}

With the time change this weekend, many of us had an “extra” hour to accomplish something. What did I do with my hour?

I slept right through it!

But what if we had a couple of extra hours every day? What if I had 26 hours a day to accomplish more?

  1. A couple of years ago, I started making a quilt through an online Block of the Month class. I’m so close to being done! If I had more hours in the day, I would finish my quilt so that I could snuggle up underneath it while napping on the couch.

    All 20 quilt blocks: I have them sewn together, the backing attached and have started quilting about half of the quilt. I need to finish quilting and bind the sides together. Almost done!
  2. Read all the books on my book list! My to-read list at Goodreads keeps growing longer and longer…. Most of all, I want to read all the stories in my new anthology that was just released yesterday: Clash of the Couples! I’ve only had time to read a couple of stories, and they are hilarious!
  3. Write more. I’d love to submit more stories to other anthologies, and maybe (gulp) write my own book.
  4. Do my nails. I like having nice nails, but rarely have time to give myself a manicure. Last Thursday, Ed gave me a little time to put on my new Jamberries! It was nice to lock myself in the bathroom for 30 minutes.

  5. Snack more…let’s face it, I’ll get hungrier with 26 hours in a day.
  6. And so, I’ll need to work out more. My new gym is open 24 hours a day, so that will be convenient!
  7. Create more art and take more art classes.

    I drew this baby from a magazine ad in an art class I took before I had children!
  8. Fix up my laundry room. It is in the basement, and it is not a pleasant place to be…yet I do so much laundry! I really want a nice laundry room. I’d also love to paint the master bathroom. It desperately needs a new coat of paint!
  9. Go on more dates with Ed! We are also desperately in need of some time together.
  10. Talk to my sisters and brother more! As the big sister, I don’t always do a good job of picking up the phone and calling my siblings. They could all probably use a couple more hours in the day, too!

Truthfully, I’d probably run out of time just like I do now with 24 hours in a day. Lisa and Rabia gave us this prompt for Tuesday Ten, so pop on over and see what they would do with two extra hours a day!

Who Would You Tell First? and Other Random Questions {Tuesday Ten}

Today Lisa and Rabia are having us answer random questions for Tuesday Ten! These are from a list of 100 random questions. I chose 10 numbers first, and then went to the random questions webpage to see which questions to answer.

2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can, What can you touch?

I’m sitting at my kitchen table, so I can stretch my arm and touch the counter.

8. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?

I stepped outside yesterday to take my kitchen compost out to the new compost container my husband made for me!

16. What is the last film you saw?

I watched “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” when my husband was at a guys’ night out. He had no desire to see it, and I’ve been dying to watch it! It follows the book very closely, so I enjoyed it. An added plus was that my husband was gone so he couldn’t criticize my movie!

27. Type of music you like most?

This question is really hard because I do like a wide variety of music. So I asked myself another question; if I could only listen to one kind of music for the rest of my life, what would it be? Definitely classical music!

45. What did you do for your last birthday?

This question is so good–I picked the number 45 because that is how old I am! My last birthday was on a Sunday. I played handbells at church, had a nice brunch, and then my husband and I left the kids with my in-laws while we went out to buy a new TV! We were still watching an old tube TV that we thought we would replace when it quit on us, but it wasn’t quitting! So I decided that we should buy a flat screen TV for my birthday.

49. What’s the farthest-away place you’ve been?

Fairbanks, Alaska. The distance from Chicago to Fairbanks is 2,805 miles!

65. How are you feeling right now?

I’m feeling a little rushed. I need to start getting ready for work!

69. Who would you tell first?

Definitely my husband, unless I didn’t want him to know. Then I would tell my sister.

72. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?

Carson Pirie Scott’s

88. Where did you grow up?

I was born in Iowa, lived across the border in Nebraska, and moved to a small town in Central Illinois when I was three. When I was twelve, we moved to the Chicago suburbs and were just a few of blocks from the actual city of Chicago. So I spent part of my childhood in the country, and part of my childhood in the city.
