This past weekend, as I often do, instead of doing what I was supposed to do…writing, dishes, laundry…I was browsing online. This whole webbernet is so fascinating, isn’t it?
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I was obsessed with OneRepublic’s Counting Stars? Now I have a new song obsession. I just know you’re going to love it, too! This duo is named Acoustic Truth, and they have a new video for their song Time. I may be a little biased since I have known the older couple in the video for years. They are members of my church. Don’t they look like pros?
(Also watch the video here.)
When I finally did get around to washing some dishes, I listened to Confessions of a Farmwife: Vol. 1. This podcast was these farmwives’ first one, but it didn’t sound like it! I felt like I was sitting at the kitchen table with them. I met Holly on my farm tours for the Illinois Farm Bureau, and this podcast makes me want to go live out in the country again.
Do you watch Modern Family? Ed and I have just started watching it this season, and I have my DVR set for tomorrow! My Spin Cycle buddy, Gretchen, will be making an appearance! Find out more details on her blog, Second Blooming.
What have you been listening to/watching/reading this week?
A beautiful song and a beautiful video! It’s a proper story instead of just people jumping up and down to something they call music.
I am reading the last installment of Jasper Fforde’s series about Thursday Next, a literary detective. And I love the new song by Robbie Williams, which he wrote about/for his daughter!
Yes, I love this kind of music! I just looked up Thursday Next, and these books look great! I need something new to read!
If you have ever read any of the ‘mandatory’ literary works, like Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, it will make it easier to read. One tip though: when it comes to names: say them out loud! I have been reading them for years now and last night I finally cottoned on to one of the names. Start with ‘the Eyre Affair’ which is the first in the series.
It’s been a while, but I have read many of those classics. My library has The Eyre Affair, and I didn’t say it out loud until now! I never would have picked up on that.
Oh I love Modern Family- But I am behind. I have been watching The Voice lately as I am so marveled by the amazing voices. Some of the contestants are so talented! Songs make the world so much better don’t they Ginny?
I agree completely!
I loved Counting Stars. This one is quite pretty too! And yes, I’ve never missed a Modern Family episode. Psyched!! As for reading, I’m thinking of starting the Bridget Jones series. Don’t know if it’s worth it..
I read the first book a long time ago, and I enjoyed it. It was a fun, fast read. I think I liked the movie, too!
The song is very good, thank you for sharing. I’m going to head over and visit with Gretchen because I do watch Modern Family, it’s one of our favorites!
Ed and I just watched two episodes, and it’s hilarious!
We always DVR Modern Family…love love love that show! Totally watching that tonight 🙂
I haven’t had time to watch it yet, but I can’t wait!
I don’t listen to too much music. However, I always try to catch an episode of The Waltons, Big Valley or Bonanza at some point during the day. I love the old shows….
Some of those old shows are the best! I watched The Waltons every week when I was little.
That is too cool the couple in the video are from your church! I don’t watch Modern Family. Actually, I tried to watch it once but couldn’t get into it.
I thought they did a nice job with the video!
