I love walking the girls to school in the morning.
Before that time, there is usually yelling and shouting.
From me:
“Brush your hair!”
“Put your shoes on!”
“Why don’t you even have your socks on yet?”
“IT’S TIME TO GO! WHYDOYOUSTILLHAVEYOURPAJAMASON?”
From the girls:
“I DID brush my hair!”
“I can’t put on my shoes if I don’t have socks on!”
“DID YOU MAKE MY LUNCH YET?”
Once we get out the door, I have one little girl on each side of me, holding my hand.
We talk about the day ahead of us.
We talk about the weather.
We talk about anything at all.
I wish we lived just a little bit farther away.
(Except then we would be late for school.)
And here I was, thinking your home was the epitome of serenity and calmness at all times!:D
My mum never walked us to school except for the first day, after that we had to do it by ourselves. All 500 meters (probably less)

🙂 This reminds me of walks to and from school with my boys. I'm so glad they still give me hugs and tell me they love me when we part, and they are 10 and 8! They even give their little sister (my 2 year old) hugs and kisses! Yes, I know I'm a blessed mommy! 🙂 I will cherish these memories for a lifetime and beyond! 🙂

I loved the drive to school. I got their undivided attention for 15 minutes. We had some of our best talks then. Thanks for the reminder, Ginny Marie!

Driving in the car does bring out some nice talks!
That's sweet. I have to drive my kids to school, but that time alone with them is priceless. No interruptions, just time to talk and listen.
No interruptions…that's priceless!
And here I was thinking your family was the perfect serene and calm family at all times! 😀
My recent post So, about Norway then…
Ha, no, we are not always serene. My house is pretty noisy!
I love the post and the picture to go along with it. They don't at all look like they'd shout! lol

They can be really, really noisy! And wild! But fun, too, most of the time. Unless they are fighting, which happens too!
But they look so angelic! Well, I guess all sisters fight sometimes. I know my sister and I did!

I love that I'm not the only one who issues morning orders like this! We don't end with a sweet walk to school. We have a van ride of recriminations most mornings. I like your way better!

I'm glad I'm not the only one, too! We have to drive two days when I go to work. I don't like those mornings as much, because sometimes we stay grumpy for the drive! It's easier to let go of stuff in the fresh air. 😉
Such cuties! It's always a last minute scramble, getting to school, isn't it!
