Walking to School

I love walking the girls to school in the morning.

Before that time, there is usually yelling and shouting.

From me:

“Brush your hair!”

“Put your shoes on!”

“Why don’t you even have your socks on yet?”

“IT’S TIME TO GO! WHYDOYOUSTILLHAVEYOURPAJAMASON?”

From the girls:

“I DID brush my hair!”

“I can’t put on my shoes if I don’t have socks on!”

“DID YOU MAKE MY LUNCH YET?”

Once we get out the door, I have one little girl on each side of me, holding my hand.

We talk about the day ahead of us.

We talk about the weather.

We talk about anything at all.

I wish we lived just a little bit farther away.

(Except then we would be late for school.)

  1. And here I was, thinking your home was the epitome of serenity and calmness at all times!:D
My mum never walked us to school except for the first day, after that we had to do it by ourselves. All 500 meters (probably less)

  2. 🙂 This reminds me of walks to and from school with my boys. I'm so glad they still give me hugs and tell me they love me when we part, and they are 10 and 8! They even give their little sister (my 2 year old) hugs and kisses! Yes, I know I'm a blessed mommy! 🙂 I will cherish these memories for a lifetime and beyond! 🙂

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one, too! We have to drive two days when I go to work. I don't like those mornings as much, because sometimes we stay grumpy for the drive! It's easier to let go of stuff in the fresh air. 😉
