The wind is howling fiercely outside, I have a miserable cold and we have no school today and tomorrow because of this stupid polar vortex. The only good thing about that sentence is the word “vortex.” Vortex is a fun word to say.
One definition of vortex is “any activity, situation, or way of life regarded as irresistibly engulfing.”
Have you ever been caught up in a “vortex?” Is there a “vortex” you would like to be caught up in?
Join Gretchen and me for The Spin Cycle; write your Spin on the word vortex and link it up any day this week!
Gretchen and I will share our Vortex stories with you on Friday. In the meantime, I’m going to go lie on the couch with my box of tissues and watch the snow plows go by.
I guess it is a fun word to say, but so not happy the cold temperatures. Seriously, I am not a fan of winter to begin with, but this cold is really too much for me. That said feel better and last week we had only one day of pre-school for the girls. Just hope we can get a few more days in this week. And will try to link up my weekend post about how we dealt and survived last week with this polar vortex π

Thanks for linking up! This winter has really been a tough one, and it’s not over yet! I’m not looking forward to making up these days in the Spring. π

Sorry to hear about your cold. You’re right that the only good thing about this polar vortex is the word vortex. Everyone seems to have latched onto this fun word. As far as this spin cycle topic is concerned, I’ve got a vortex of ideas spinning around my head already!

Whoo-hoo! Can’t wait to see which vortex you write about!

Vortex. I’m kind of sick of hearing about the vortex. Though it is kind of a fun word. Is there a tropical vortex? I think I’d like that one better.

I’m definitely ready for a tropical vortex of some kind!

They’re even talking about the vortex down here in Florida. They have their own version, although it’s nowhere near as cruel as the one in Massachusetts and I’m sure where you are. Spring will come!

That’s good to remember, Tamara…Spring always comes again!
BTW, I voted on your VOTY today! You’re going to be a VOTY14, I just know it!

I’m SO SO SO over the polar vortex thing. I mean, what does that even mean??? Is it going away soon? Because I’m over the whole school-cancelled thing. Here’s to vortex meaning βany activity, situation, or way of life regarded as irresistibly engulfing.β which = that normal life can have great vortex moments too, right? Please say yea.

Yea! I have a few normal life vortex moments I’m floating around in my head right now! π We have major cabin fever over here right now. I’m going to be so relieved when we go back to school tomorrow!
