Halloween this year was flanked by two beautiful, sunny Fall days. Halloween itself, however, was not so nice. In fact, it was just plain nasty. Between cold temps and the rain, the adults couldn’t win. To the kids, however, the weather didn’t matter. They just wanted to go trick-or-treating with each other, and run around the neighborhood like crazy, ringing doorbells and collecting candy. The cold drizzle didn’t bother them one bit. Us moms kept commenting that at least it wasn’t as cold as last year, when there were snow flurries fluttering around us all afternoon. Plus, there was a hot crock pot full of chili waiting in my kitchen, along with “mummy” dogs for Lily and Emmy since they don’t care for my chili even in cold weather.
How was your Halloween? Was it rainy or sunny?
(It’s November 1st, and time for NaBloPoMo! Look for another blog post tomorrow. Shocking, I know!)
It was a mild Halloween here with no rain, but a bit overcast. But one of the best things about it was it being on a Saturday this year 😉
Yes, I agree! Being on a Saturday made Halloween much better and less rushed!

We were only out for an hour due to the poor weather and long wait for the rain to run away. The kids were worn out by 4:30 and just wanted dinner.

Lucky you! My kids went out twice, first with me and then with their dad. But they had fun.

My Halloween was quiet. As in: I have everything left over! Well, minus the bits that I ate of course.

We didn’t get as many trick-or-treaters as I was hoping, so we have a lot of leftovers, too! I certainly can’t keep eating all this candy.
Halloween is not as popular here as it is in the States, though it is getting more popular these years. We had mild weather on Saturday. Halloween and the time change at the end of October, interesitngly, always remind me of the fall of 2007, when it was close to freezing in my apartment because I had decided turning on the heating wasn’t safe (I was at the time quite mentally unwell). I didn’t know November is NaBloPoMo, and to be honest I did #Write31Days in October so may need a bit of a break from committing to blog every single day.

I can see why you need a blogging break! Writing every day is hard, and I’m not sure I’ll make it through the month of November, but I’m going to try!

I made those mummy hot dogs for my crew too! A big mistake – now they want them in their lunchboxes on the regular 🙂
Yay for chili after rainy trick or treating!
I remember those Halloween’s in Chicago. It was a nice day here in California!
I think every day in California must be a nice day! 🙂
