Ballet in the Springtime

In the middle of March the girls have their annual ballet recital. March; when the wind is cold and brisk; when there is still a chance of snow; when the magnolia tree blooms…wait a minute!

Our magnolia tree usually doesn’t bloom until May!

Eating ice cream outside in March? Crazy!

Usually, we hurry the girls in their ballet dresses from the car to the school, shivering, holding an umbrella, hoping that their hair won’t get messed up. That is the typical kind of weather in March for Northern Illinois.

This year, we had a gorgeous, sun-shiny day! What amazing weather for March! After the recital, we went out to eat and sat outside. It was a perfect day for ballet.
